Solo again

So it's just Grayson and I this week. We found out this past Thursday, that Dan was being summoned back to Erie.  By travelling, Dan is opening up new opportunities in a job that he enjoys, but he remains apprehensive about spending too much time away from the family during the weekdays.  He is getting positive feedback from his boss, and they are working together to make sure that he can happily coordinate his work and family life.

This definitely makes for an interesting weekend/week. Since we had a couple days notice, we had to finagle some of our plans for the week..Dan is hoping to be back Wednesday evening, but there's a possibility he won't be leaving PA until Thursday morning. We leave for CT Thursday evening. For his sake, it would be best if he was able to get back to Cincy Wed evening, and then get back in the car Thursday evening for the drive back to CT.

I already packed G's clothes away, and have put most of the clothes I'll be wearing off to the side. I have ZERO time during the week to get this done, and I don't want to bank on any time at night after Grayson is sleeping because you never know with him! He could be up all night with an Ear Infection...and thank GOD for my wonderful boss who suggested I take G back to the doc for his post Ear Infection checkout BEFORE my trip to CT. Traveling with a sick kid is not something I want to do again.

We did NOT end up going to the Zoo for various reasons. But hope to go after we get back from our Memorial Day weekend trip. We did end up having dinner with some good friends and Grayson's Biff, Zach. I have a picture that I'd post here, but my phone seems to take an hour to send a pic to my email. Not impressed.

Hopefully I have a couple minutes to update during the week with some pictures I took over the weekend. *Fingers Crossed* that G's Ear Infection is officially gone...

Oh, and a HELL YEA for my awesome girlfriend who underwent major surgery this weekend. We are SO SO proud of her, and so happy she is already well on her way to recovery.

O CHEERIO!

Weather for the week: Rain Everyday
Weather for Saturday: Sunny
Me: Let's go to the Zoo!!!!!

I have been stalking weather.com like it's my job. And finally, I saw a couple days ago that Saturday was going to be sunny. So I waited...and today, it still says SUNNY! I am praying that the sun stays out and we can take G to the Zoo to see the Zoo babies. The weather will be a perfect 75 out.

We got lucky this weekend with a little bit of sunshine at the end of the day, great for the Puppy Shower we had for our friends Laura + John. I'm so excited to announce they brought their little puppy Scout home yesterday. I cannot WAIT to meet him. I've already seen pictures, and he's quite the adorable pup. He's gonna have a lot of little boys to play with!

Dan wasn't here last week, and to be honest, It was really easy taking care of G on my own. What wasn't so easy? He had a double ear infection. I knew something was up Monday night because he was pretty fussy going down to sleep..but I just ignored it, thinking that he may have just been acting up.

Fast forward to Tuesday night where neither of us slept because he refused to lay down (hello double ear infection!) He's such a little stinker. He acts all fine during the day, and then like a werewolf, turns into this little monster at night. I do feel bad, though. Ear Infections are pretty awful, and I'm sure I'd scream all night if I had one, too. He's doing much better now.

Of course a picture of the G-man
Concentrate...the cheerio WILL go into my mouth

This past week has been really emotional for me, for my family, and for my friends. This coming week is going to be even more emotional for a VERY good friend of mine. I've been playing this song over and over. Not to be all corny, but it seriously kept my head up!

So for anyone who needs a little pick-me-up!

"The glow that the sun gives
Right around sunset
Helps me realize
This is just a journey
Drop your worries
You are gonna turn out fine.
Oh, you'll turn out fine.
Fine, oh, you'll turn out fine.

But you gotta keep your head up, oh,
And you can let your hair down, eh.
you gotta keep your head up, oh,
And you can let your hair down, eh."

Happy Momma Day!

Happy Mother's Day!

Mother's Day last year - I was getting off a plane having recently just attended the wedding shower of my sister-in-law. I remember thinking that "this time next year" I'll have a little boy.

Well, we have a little boy. and BOY is he FULL of energy.

Friday night, Dan and I went out to dinner with some friends while Mom and Dad B, babysat G.
Um. Look at that child's face. It has T.R.O.U.B.L.E written all over it. I'm pretty sure he kept both Grandma and Pepere very busy that evening.

Ha. Ha. Ha.

Saturday we ran errands. One of which had us buying Grayson his Big Boy Carseat. Tears Ensue. Omg, I don't know why I thought this was so emotional. But, I wasn't the only one who got teary. I texted the pic of G in his carseat to his Aunt Heather, and she started crying too. What is wrong with us?

P.S I'm not sure how we're going to make it through his first birthday party.

Sunday I woke up to breakfast in bed (YEY!).. And then decided to surprise Grandma at church. I think Grayson secretly wants to go to church every Sunday because he sure does get spoiled. Not only do Grandma and Pepere hold him, but there's a sweet little girl around the age of 4 who just LOVES to hold "the baby". To bad "the baby" is bigger then her. Of course we let her hold him, and after about 10 seconds she says "wow, he's wiggly, you can have him back"  ::dies::

My happy boy

After we went to church, we had to run more errands, and headed back home to do some deep cleaning of the house. (I know- why did we clean on Mother's Day?)
Anyway, Dan went to mow the lawn while I started doing stuff around the house. Grayson was helping me along with way. I didn't put him in his cage playroom because he gets fussy if he's all alone. Um. yea. We'll address that eventually. I was doing something in the kitchen for LITERALLY HALF A SECOND..when I turn around and can't find him. Grayson? GRAYSON?!!!

Oh, right...your behind the couch.

I think my child is part dog...

After we cleaned, I was made a strawberry/orange mimosa while Dan grabbed a beer, and outside we went!

Not sure what they were talking about

 "He's not looking!"

So that was my mother's day weekend.

Dan left this morning for his 4 day business trip, so it'll be myself and the dude until late Thursday evening, early Friday morning. I'm pretty sure Grayson will be very very happy to see his Dad Friday morning, as I already know Dan is missing his little G.

Just a couple snapshots

I forgot to update the blog with some of G's 9 Month Pictures!
Because of our crazy weather, we decided to do the pictures indoors again (boo)..But, his 1 year pictures WILL be taken outdoors. It will be July, and it better be warm!

Anyway, here are a couple shots for the shoot!

so funny that this picture is my favorite.
I actually didn't really care for the hat, but my MIL insisted. She actually bought the hat and told me to use it in one of the pictures!

I just realized that whenever I upload pictures, they look fuzzier?!! I thought it was my camera..but even these pro ones that were taken are fuzzy and not as nice looking. Odd.

So there you have it!

9 Months

9 months.

Oh "HIIIII"

There was a small tragedy that happened when I tried to stick the 9 month sticker on Grayson yesterday morning. It was immediately torn off and ripped apart. Thanks buddy!

Sadly, we don't have the 9 month onesie picture. Next month, the sticker is going on something else NEAR G, and hopefully, the sticker will survive.

So here's what G's been up to:

Weight: 20lbs exactly: 45th percentile
Height: 29 1/4 inches: 90th percentile
Still got my long baby!

*starting to cruise on furniture - mostly the couches. Obviously he's brilliant and knows that the couches are softer and easier to cruise.
*Dances at his Fischer Price activity table. So funny. When the music starts playing, he starts bopping up and down. Adorbs.
*We've moved him up to size 4 diapers at night to prevent any leakage.

*His eating has recently changed a bit. Grayson has decided that it takes way too much effort to drink out of a bottle. He would rather look around, play, eat regular food, ect. The only way he'll drink any formula, is if you bring him into a room by himself and feed him- and god forbid anyone speaks to you while your feeding him, it's done. (just imagine him at daycare with other babies around...)

We spoke with the pediatrician, and since Grayson's growth is perfectly on track, we were told not to worry about the low amount of formula he is taking in. Instead, we're going to introduce a third meal to help put a little more weight on him. (I was hesitant of this since adding more food might mean even less formula) It's not that he's that small...but he's shooting up like a beanstalk (get it heather and holly) and his pants are too short, but loose around his waist.

*Climbs stairs (supervised)
*We believe he's starting to get yet another tooth. Somewhere up top and towards the back. He keeps shoving his thumb to the side of his mouth, and his drool has been ridiculous. Just today, I went through three shirts.
*Says "Ma ma ma ma", "Da da da da da" "Heda" (yep, heather got him to say her name!)
*Likes being chased, or chasing after you..we have so much fun with this. We always get big smiles and happy screams.
*still LOVES playing peek-a-boo
*sleeps on his stomach

I think that's it for the updates.

This weekend, Saturday happened to be really nice out.  It's been raining almost everyday for the past month, and any excuse to get outside was A-OK to us. We were supposed to go on a hike, but our errands ended up taking a lot longer then expected to get done. So we improvised and took G outside in the yard for a bit.

I'm thankful we had such a nice day out Saturday, but today the clouds came back...Here's hoping to some sunshine this week!

A couple pics from our weekend:

"Heyyy"

Hanging at Dunkin Donuts

Wow Grayson, your so clean..

Ahh, fresh air!

"oh please let the Mets win tonight, my daddy will be so happy"

"What is that green stuff?!!"

"O, I'm just helping dad put together my cage gate."

"Wait a minute, where did everyone go?!"

I'm sure this is said every month, but, where did the time go? Am I seriously planning my child's first birthday party? I can't believe it.

Both Dan and I are absolutely LOVING this stage of life with Grayson, he is soo much fun. He is aware of so many things around him, and we're really excited to get outside with him and enjoy all the outdoors have to offer. Umm, mother nature, do you hear that?

This month, we're hoping to get to the Cincinnati Zoo to see the Zoo babies. We don't want to wait until the dead of summer when it's 100 degrees out. No way. Plus, if G is anything like his dad, which I assume he is...he'll just melt.
