MOMMY STOP TICKLING ME!!
Grayson and Daddy have staring contests....
My BIG BOY is 1 month old!
Weight: 10lbs 1 0z (he's gained 2lbs in his first month!)
Length: 22 and 3/4 (he's grown 1 and 3/4inches)
I knew that he was growing a lot but didn't realize how much! Right now Grayson is eating roughly 4 oz every 3 hours (sometimes every 2 depending on his mood). He is VERY cranky if he doesn't get his food immediately.
I did talk to the doctor about his vomiting episodes and she didn't seem too concerned. Within the past couple of days the vomiting had decreased a lot anyways, so I think he's grown out of it. YEY!
The doctor also said he is very alert. We are actually pretty lucky at this point because we can put him down on the floor with a blanket and he'll just kick away for about a half hour before he gets bored. The same goes for his swing - he will stay awake in that thing just swinging away for hours.
Tummy Time - this has become quite fun for Dan and I.
Grayson is a kicker. The kid LOVES to kick. He's quite strong too - so he honestly would crawl if his upper body was strong enough. We have tons of video of him on his tummy kicking away, trying SO hard to move. He eventually starts to get frustrated and kind of cries/whines/wimpers until I pick him up. It's just funny that the only reason he freaks out is because he can't move himself.
I will try to upload video as soon as possible. Hopefully tonight If I can figure it out.

Almost back to normal - 3 weeks
The 3 WEEK updated
....and my 3 week post partum check-up went great!
I am officially back to me pre-preg weight, and even though my body still is a little "off" from what it used to be, I'm not going to complain! The doc said that my uterus is still 3 months pregnant and it will take until week 6 for it to officially be shrunken down to it's normal size. Not bad!
Last week was my first official week by myself taking care of Grayson - and it went very well!
We have our little schedule of:
waking up, feeding, getting changed for the day, going downstairs to play with some toys (this is usually putting him on his playmat for a couple minutes, his swing for a bit, tummy time) , then rocking him to sleep for his first nap.
After Gray's first nap, I'll feed him - and then stick him in the carseat! This is when I get to go out for the day to run errands, and it's worked out pretty well. I usually get 2-3 hours of good behavior out of him this way. He really likes being in his carseat in the car, which is wonderful for me.
I can't wait for next week to get the "stats" on his growth. I've already had to remove his newborn clothing from his drawers because they don't fit:(
When we go to the docs next week, we're going to discuss little Grayson's episodes of vomiting. I have a feeling he may have a little Acid Reflux, which is quite common in newborns. He's a bit of a projectile vomiter - Aunt Heather got to experience this. LOL.
That's about it for now on the updates...

2 weeks already!
So- It's been two weeks.
And since we got to visit our pediatrician twice in his first week, I won't have any official weight/length updates on Grayson until the end of the month. Even though, I MAY stand on the scale with him and get a guesstimate.
One of the biggest changes since I last updated is the amount of time Grayson stays awake for and HOW awake he is -When he's awake, his eyes are WIDE OPEN. Dan says that it looks like he inherited my long eye lashes - so maybe he does have a little me in him. I honestly don't think the child looks like me at all, we'll see in the next couple months if he has my eye and hair color, though. I have a feeling both will be brown.
Within the past week or so Grayson got to meet he Uncle Al, Aunt Michelle, Grandpa Chiulli, Aunt Holly, Aunt Rachael, and Aunt Heather - so it's been pretty busy around here!
Aunt Heather was pretty much a lifesaver and I'll get to that after I give you the Grayson updates
Likes: Still loves to be cuddled
Still LOVES his tummy and being on his playmat
Thanks to Aunt Heather - he NOW likes his swing!
Another Thanks to Aunt Heather -he'll take a Pacifier to calm himself down
Fuzzy blankets
Boppy -it's really good that Aunt Heather came to visit because I never would have used the Boppy the way she helped us use it...and she was only here one day!!
Being in the car
Being Rocked to sleep
Taking a bath - he really enjoys having the warm water being poured over him
Dislikes:
The usual - having a wet diaper
Waiting more then .5 seconds for us to get him his food. He's very impatient
Gas - he has a lot of it. Mylicon has been my savior as of late
Sitting still while awake - I did this to myself. I swear this child will be crawling at like two months. I have video proof of his baby craziness.
Hiccups - OMG - I feel so bad for him. He tries to be o.k with it, but they'll last for half anhour..so he ends up freaking out. Gripe Water has been my other savior.
All in all, Gray's a pretty happy baby as long as he's fed, not wet, and fairly entertained.
My update
I had been feeling pretty great up until about Thursday of this past week. I started to get the chills and not feel so hot, but thought that I was just over reacting.
Friday comes and my dad, holly, and rachael leave - while Heather comes in.
I start to feel pretty gross at this point, really bad chills, headache, ect. I really thought I was just a little overtired, so I asked Heather to watch the little man while I tried to nap..which she obviously did with pleasure. I had taken some Aspirin earlier in the day, so once it kicked in I had felt much better, but by the end of the night I had the chills terribly again.
Finally, Dan made me take my temp and it was 102..OOPS.
I was of course kind of hysterical because I was convinced I got the baby sick somehow...
The next day we call the doc and told her my symptoms and she said I had Mastitis - an infection in my breasts. Lovely.
Thankfully, Heather was AMAZING and took care of Grayson all day Saturday (yes, dan could've done it, but she really wouldn't let him. ha!) I literally couldn't move by Saturday..I felt awful. I couldn't even hold Grayson because my chest hurt so bad. It was so sad.
By Sunday, the antibiotic I was prescribed had kicked in and my fever had gone down a lot....by Monday I had felt better..and Today I have NO PAIN in my chest. YAY!
On another note, this week I decided to take the plunge and go get my summer clothes. It actually wasn't that bad. Everything fits - albeit a little differently - but I like it! I have to go through one more bin of clothes and hopefully that will be it.
While I'm home, I've decided to organize our closets and clothes. Grayson sleeps for 2-3hr increments and this is usually when I'll clean, cook, and workout. I'm thinking the closet project will only take me to the end of this week so I'll have to figure out a next week project.

Grayson's HERE!
OMG. He is seriously amazing...
He arrived Friday July 30th, 2010 at 11:49 am - 8lbs 1 oz and 21 inches long.
He's already grown so much in the 9 days he's been with us. The past couple of days he keeps his eyes open longer and longer. We're not quite sure on the eye color yet - they are currently a hazel-dark blue.
Becoming a parent has been the single best experienced of my life. I never would have imagined the amount of love I have for my little guy, it's truly impressive. I could just stare at him all day. No Joke
Both Dan and I have adjusted really well to having our new addition. Dan has been home the whole week, and it's been awesome...I love having him here and being able to be a family together. He gets to feed Grayson (I'm pumping), change him, cuddle with him, and get to experience the early firsts with me.
A little about Grayson so far:
Left the hospital weighing 7lbs 10 oz
At his one week weigh-in he is at 8lbs and 2 oz
Likes: Cuddles, Kisses, Tummy Time!, Peeing on his changing table - actually- peeing everywhere, hitting himself in the face with his own hands
Doesn't like: A wet diaper
Having his diaper changed
Getting blood taken
Being Hungry
Hair Color: Brownish
Eye Color: Hazel-Dark Blue (for the time being)
How much does he eat: Currently 3 ounces every 2-3 hours. But, I think that will be increasing soon...he's been sucking those down pretty quickly lately.
Now, For the POST PARTUM QUIZ:
I will definitely have some pictures in the next blog post!

Now, For the POST PARTUM QUIZ:
- How far along were you when you had your baby? 39 weeks (I was told at the hospital my official due date was actually August 6th, not 4th)
- How long was labor? 11.5 hours
- Total weight gain: 23lbs
- Total weight loss since: all except 3-5lbs.
- Back into your own clothes yet? Well- since my chest is actually even larger now then when I was pregnant - I literally have NO TOPS that fit me, with the exception of the maternity ones that I had. My pre-preg pants fit, some of the very fitted ones don't yet fit (they may never since it's mostly my hips they don't fit)
- Did you get stretch marks? NONE!
- Did you deliver vaginally or by c-section? Vaginally.
- Best moment this week: Seeing Grayson's little eyes open more and more
- What I miss about being pregnant: I don't really think there's anything I miss about being pregnant...
- How big is baby: At his one week appt he had surpassed his birthweight and is at 8lbs 2 ounces.
- Baby's temperament? Content
- What I am looking forward to: when he can interact a little more with us!
I will definitely have some pictures in the next blog post!
